The French agricultural biofuel industries applaud French MPs for their sweeping, cross-party rejection of the suggested tax increase on B100 and Superethanol-E85 fuels during the plenary session at the French parliament on Monday, 30 November.
They now count on both Parliament and the Government to uphold this position for the remainder of the debate.
Les filières regrettent l’absence totale de concertation qui a conduit à proposer cette mesure sur la base de biais méthodologiques, d’erreurs manifestes et d’omissions concernant notamment l’impact sur les souverainetés françaises.
The industries regret the complete lack of consultation that led to an inter-ministerial decision based on methodological biases, omissions (including the impact on national sovereignty), and glaring factual errors.Maintaining the current level of taxation is fully consistent with the purpose of these industries: to cut carbon emissions in transport while boosting motorists’ purchasing power and improving transport operators’ competitive edge, as well as contributing to energy and food sovereignty (proteins, vegetable oils, sugar and starch industries), farmer income, and regional industrial vitality.
